Truth and Lies
When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.
– John 16:13 HCSB
A house of mirrors.
That’s what it’s like living here today, Lord. I see a multitude of reflections, and I’m not sure which one is real.
I watch one news anchor report a story, then flip the channel and hear the same event reported by someone else with a completely different angle. Which one is true?
It’s hard to tell the facts from the spin right now. More than ever before, I need You to guide me in Truth.
Lord, help me discern the lies from the truth. Uncover the deceptions—one by one— and expose them in the Light.
Surround me in truth today:
Give me ears to hear it.
Give me a strong voice to share it.
Give me a heart that yearns for it.
Help me stay grounded in Your word each day, because Your Word is Truth, and in Christ, we know Truth.
Lord, guard my mouth from speaking untruths. May I speak the truth in love when needed, and when it is spoken to me, give me ears hear it.
Your Word says:
I’ve written to warn you about those who are trying to deceive you. But they’re no match for what is embedded deeply within you—Christ’s anointing, no less! You don’t need any of their so-called teaching. Christ’s anointing teaches you the truth on everything you need to know about yourself and him, uncontaminated by a single lie. Live deeply in what you were taught.
