One of the Most Powerful Prayers is Only Three Words

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

Psalm 56:3 NKJV

Three words.
Whenever I face obstacles too great to overcome,
Or when the enemy is knocking at my door, I pray three words, Lord.
Three.

And now I come to You to pray for our nation and I don’t even know where to begin.
Everywhere I look, there’s fear. Overseas, rumors of sickness and pestilence abound.
In our neighborhoods, in the markets, even on our streets.
It’s all the same: confusion and uncertainty.

And I am unsettled.

So I run to my place of peace and I get down on my knees
And I pray the only prayer I know that gives me peace:

I trust You.

The future is uncertain and I’m not sure how we can be whole again.
But, Lord, I trust You.

When I’m overwhelmed and weary, or when I don’t have enough time or resources
And my faith seems so very small, these three words are all that I need, Lord.

I trust You.

You will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace,
for it is trusting in You.
