Most of us spend a lot of time looking for the “sweet spot” in life. If you often feel a sense of “restlessness,” …. maybe you’re searching for it right now.
Looking back in my life, there are times when I wanted to be anywhere other than where I was in that moment:
- I couldn’t wait to leave high school and head off to college;
- I longed for a cool job as my college days waned;
- I pined for a soul-mate during my days of living as a single girl;
- I walked around my rented home desiring a home of my own;
- I wished to find a moment of peace with active toddlers underfoot.
My guess is that you know exactly what I mean here. Maybe you, too, feel … unsettled.
Time moves forward and life’s precious moments never stand still. They flow on like the waters of a mountain stream rushing to oceans elsewhere.
I sit here on a rusting patio chair writing with a longing in my heart for something that is yet to be. A painful burden of restlessness weighs heavy on me. I feel … unsettled.
Suddenly, a soft June breeze lifts up the sweetest scent of nearby gardenia blooms. A kiss of sweetness.
A reminder of the Sweet Life … which I realize is right here, right now, in the present moment.
And the moment is rushing by me.
