Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

April 11, 2023

Do you have a special dream or goal that the Lord has given you? If you do, you may encounter one or more hurdles that arise as you start out on your journey.

In the past, I thought that must mean that I was wrong about what I believed God was calling me to do. Perhaps, He wasn’t asking me to step out on this dream after all? If God had inspired the goal, shouldn't each step fall into place easily?

I was wrong.

In my struggles to write for God’s glory, I realized something that changed my perspective:

Sometimes, when we are on the right track, the enemy will attempt to stop us from reaching it. In fact, this happens more often than not!

Attack of busyness, physical fatigue, distractions, money issues, and other roadblocks can arise like multiple hurdles to stop us from reaching a dream that will glorify God.

Instead of giving up on your dream, go to the Lord for direction. Ask Him to confirm if this is the right time and season to advance towards your goal. Ask for any further directions, and ask Him for provision to reach it.

If you hear nothing further from Him through the Holy Spirit—such as a word to stop or change directions—just keep going.

Keep your eyes on the prize! Even if your steps are small, make a step every day to reach your God-inspired goal. Continue to seek God's direction through the Holy Spirit.

There is much more we can do. We can go to Scripture and discover His promises to help us along the way. Pray those promises daily... they are all "YES" in Jesus. (I pray the promises out loud... more on that soon.)
