I love comeback stories, don’t you?
The kind where a protagonist loses everything—his home, his job, his finances, his dream. Just as it seems that all is lost, the story makes a dramatic turn and he discovers a future for himself that is greater than he could have imagined.
You don’t have to look far to find great comeback stories in the Bible. It’s chock full of them! And right now, I’d love a little comeback story of my own.
That’s why this promise given to the Israelite exiles at a time of despair encourages me. I’m sharing it with you here, just in case you are praying for a comeback, too:
“I’ll turn things around for you.
I’ll bring you back from all the countries into which I drove you”
“bring you home to the place from which I sent you off into exile.
You can count on it.”
If you are discouraged, don’t be. Instead, give thanks for the journey. Then ask God to orchestrate your comeback!
If you already have a comeback story, would you share it by commenting?
